My name is Eugene Ortiz, a Ph.D. student in the Technical Communication
and Rhetoric program at Texas Tech in Lubbock (finishing my coursework
this semester). I really didn't come here to study TCR per se, but to work
with Fred Kemp on Computers and Writing. I'm working on a project called
The Dialogical Learning Network. While I was doing a web search for other
online entities interested in dialogical learning, Learning-Org came up
--so I subscribed.

DLN is designed to be an alliance of Internet mailing lists, college
course discussion lists, and interested members of the corporate community
or anybody else interested. At this time since I'm teaching first-year
college composition, the primary goal of DLN is to increase the range of
student written experience, and thereby increase student effectiveness in
written discourse. Eventually, I'd like to expand to other fields. The
type of lists that can be involved are not restricted to
composition-related discussions by ANY means.

By creating fields of overlapping discourse communities, college students
and the community-at-large can meet and learn from each other through
direct dialog. If you want to take a few minutes to visit the DLN Website
and let me know what you think, the current URL is
http://english.ttu.edu/DLN/DLN.htm.

I hope we can help each other out. I'm not familiar with the work of Peter
M. Senge, but I'll fix that very soon.

Thanks.
Gene
